It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our beloved company founder Hans Fischer passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. We bid farewell to a man who, through his extraordinary efforts, built an internationally successful company with over 2700 employees from a one-man business. He owed this success not only to his tireless commitment and entrepreneurial vision, but also to his unique ability to connect people. With his death, we have lost not only a visionary entrepreneur, but also an inspiring personality and a wonderful person.
His life path
Hans Fischer was born on June 2, 1944 in Seebach. He began an apprenticeship as a machine fitter at the age of 14 and successfully completed his master craftsman's examination in mechanical engineering with distinction at the age of 22. At the age of 24, he was already deputy production manager of a mechanical engineering company. But he wanted to achieve more. He wanted to “be free”.
At the age of just 25, he decided to take the plunge into self-employment and founded Hans Fischer Mechanische Werkstätte in 1969. It all started as a one-man business in his garage at home.
The difficult beginning
In 1974, during a conversation with a customer, the idea of producing stainless steel tubes himself came up. That day changed his life. From then on, he couldn't let go of the tube. He thought about how a piece of stainless steel sheet could be endlessly formed and welded into a tube.
The hardest and most difficult years of his life began. The attempts to develop and build a suitable machine were extremely time-consuming and costly. Soon the financial possibilities were exhausted. Getting loans from the bank also became increasingly difficult. Hans worked day and night during this time and often doubted himself and his idea.
The big breakthrough
Things finally started to improve at the beginning of the 1980s. The machines were now at a technical level that made it possible to produce tubes that could be sold. At that time, Hans was still working in production himself.
The big breakthrough came in the mid-80s. The first steps towards internationalization of the company followed from 1989. Branches were gradually established in Canada, South Africa, Mexico, Sundern (Germany), USA, Austria, China, Menden (Germany) and Uruguay.
A pioneer with a big heart
Hans Fischer had a very special management style. His philosophy was that good and motivated employees were the best capital for a company. He was not only a visionary entrepreneur, but also a pioneer who set standards with his tireless commitment and passion for innovation. Hans was an extraordinary personality, characterized by courage, determination and a big heart. His ability to inspire and motivate others was remarkable.
A clear focus on the future
Hans Fischer thought about the future of his company early on and appointed his sons Hans-Peter and Roland Fischer as managing directors. Together with commercial director Björn Weber, they now form the management team of the fischer group.
The second generation in the family business is aware of the responsibility that this task entails. “We work hard every day to ensure that the company is set up for success in the future. We want to preserve the values and family togetherness, but also have the courage and foresight to make the right decisions,” says Hans-Peter Fischer.
Hans Fischer has shown how successful you can become with human values. His warm humanity, familiarity and solid down-to-earth attitude have been the foundation of the fischer group from day one. The fischer group will continue to be guided by these values in the future.
